Between autonomy and advanced infotainment systems, it’s abundantly clear how technology is impacting the automobile. But a lot of that is decidedly big-picture. What about the little things, like remembering where you parked?
As it turns out, Apple is reportedly working on a fix for that faux-pas. According to technology website Gizmodo, a screenshot of hidden assets within Apple’s upcoming iOS 8 reveal icons that keep tabs on the last location which users have parked their cars.

How exactly it works remains unclear — it could be integrated with Apple’s CarPlay infotainment system, or it could drop a pin each time the car is switched off and the phone is disconnected from the infotainment system. Or, Gizmodo speculates it could follow Google and automatically drop a pin whenever drivers exit their vehicles.
However it may work, one thing is certain — if Kramer had an iPhone with this feature, the Seinfeld crew probably would’ve avoided getting lost in a parking garage in that one episode.
