Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the refreshed 2015 CLS ahead of its official debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
As with any mid-cycle refresh, much of the 2015 CLS’ changes are cosmetic. Up front, there is a new front fascia styled to resemble the rest of Mercedes’ models, with hints of the CLA in the front bumper and the grille. New for 2015 is the AMG Line package, adding AMG-inspired styling bits, as well as a new set of “Multibeam LED” headlights. According to Mercedes, these headlights have been revised with a dazzle-free low-beam and are connected to the car’s GPS navigation system, giving them the ability to illuminate corners before the driver reaches that point.

The 2015 CLS sees more significant changes under the sheet metal. The four-door coupe will now share a 3.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V6 with the upcoming C-Class sedan, pumping out 333 horsepower and 354 lb.-ft. of torque. It will be paired to an all-new nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive is optional. A more powerful 408-horspower engine is optional, while the 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 will be a carry-over in the AMG variant.
Like the exterior, the interior is largely identical but has been reworked with new materials and a focus towards sportiness. Changes include a new three-spoke steering wheel and an eight-inch freestanding infotainment screen, as well as more trim and leather seating options. Mercedes will also continue to offer the CLS Shooting Brake for 2015, which unfortunately is unavailable in North America.
