Ford has taken to this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed to unveil the refreshed-for-2015 Ford Focus ST.

As the saying goes, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” That’s likely the ideology Ford follow with the Focus ST’s nip/tuck, given the seemingly minor styling tweaks. Up front, the bumper, headlights and grille have been reshaped, while the rear is largely identical to the outgoing ST, save for a slightly different set of tail lights, and a reshaped diffusor and exhaust tip. The 2015 Focus ST rides on standard 18-inch alloy wheels that are now finished in dark gray, while a new colour called Magnetic Metallic is available.

On the inside, the changes to the Focus ST are just as minor as the exterior. There is a new instrument panel with more storage space and fewer buttons, and Ford has fitted a new flat-bottom steering wheel. The Recaro seats, arguably the staple of the Focus ST (and its little brother, the Fiesta ST) have carried over for 2015. They can be finished in all-cloth on the base ST1 trim, a combination of leather bolsters and cloth inserts on the mid-range ST2, and all-leather on the range-topping ST3 trim.

The Focus ST retains its 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, pumping out 252 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque. A six-speed manual is still the only transmission option, but for 2015, Ford has added revised suspension bits up front and improved the electric power-steering system for a more engaging drive. All very good news.
