Subaru has issued a recall over brake lines that could possibly rust.
Approximately 660,000 cars are affected, including the 2005-2009 Legacy and Outback, the 2008-2014 Impreza (including the WRX and STI models) and the 2009-2013 Forester. According to AutoGuide, vehicles where road salt is used in the winter could see brake lines rust prematurely and lead to fluid leaks.
Vehicles will be inspected by having their brake pedals depressed and lines checked for leaks. Rusted brake lines will be replaced and rust-proofed, while models affected by the recall but without any leaks will only be rust-proofed.
A majority of the Subaru models are within the U.S., but Transport Canada says another 105,649 vehicles are being recalled in Canada.
