Acura has revealed the all-new 2015 TLX sedan will start at $34,990 in Canada.
Billed as a replacement to both the TSX and the TL sedans, the TLX will be available with two powertrains. Base TLX sedans will come standard with a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine, good for 206 horsepower. A new, eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is standard, along with Acura’s Precision All-Wheel Steer (P-AWS) system.
If that isn’t enough kick, the TLX is also available with a 3.5-litre V6, rated at 290 horsepower and paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Six-cylinder models with front-wheel-drive are also equipped with P-AWS, while Acura’s SH-AWD is optional. Unlike the outgoing TSX and TL sedans, a manual transmission is unavailable on the TLX.

As for fuel economy, Acura says the 2.4-litre TLX sips 9.6L/100 km in the city and 6.6 on the highway, while 3.5-litre V6 models are slightly thirstier at 11.2 in the city and 6.9 or 7.5 on the highway, depending on whether or not the all-wheel-drive option box is ticked.
The 2015 TLX comes standard with a bucket list worth of standard equipment, including LED headlights, smart-key access with push-button start, a back-up camera and dual-zone climate control. Opt for the Technology and Elite packages and those add more upscale features, such as heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel, a remote starter, LED fog lights and the requisite GPS navigation.
Much like its competitors, the TLX can be had with a suite of active safety features, including adaptive cruise control, a lane departure warning system and a blind-spot monitor. Initially, the four-cylinder TLX will hit dealers this August, followed by V6 models later in the year. Keep an eye on Driving for our first drive next month.
