Much like its Gallardo predecessor, Lamborghini and it’s in-house race division, Squadra Corse, have dropped a teaser of its Huracán set to compete in the Super Trofeo race series.
Already undergoing testing, the track-spec Huracán Super Trofeo will share the race grid with the Gallardo, but will compete in different classes. Girgio Sanna, Lamborghini’s chief test driver and head of the Squadra Corse division, says the car is already completing shakedown testing in Italy.
“The first shakedown is always a very special moment,” Sanna said in a statement. “I’ve followed the development phase step-by-step in Sant’Agata Bolognese, and we are all enthusiastic about this very important moment.”
Lamborghini hasn’t announced any technical specs, but the Huracán Super Trofeo will likely share its 5.2-litre V10 engine with the production-spec model. We can also expect a power bump since it’s a race car after all, as well as the requisite chassis and aerodynamic tweaks.
