It’s a fact of life that most of us want what we can’t afford. In car speak, that usually boils down to dreaming of owning big-name luxury brands.
Luckily, many of those same brands offer a compromise for aspiring car buyers with a light wallet: the entry-level luxury segment. These starter cars offer a stepping stone to bigger and better cars up the product line as owners start to earn the big bucks later in life (at least, that’s the whole intention). Outside the traditional luxury marques, other automakers also offer luxurious driving experiences in their higher trims for a reasonable price.
These entry-level luxury cars offer most of what we crave in the higher-end vehicles — good looks, technology, useful amenities, and, in some cases, brand prestige. While it’s true you won’t get outlandish performance from any of these vehicles, what you will get is decent performance and luxury value for the price.
