Honda has officially announced Canadian pricing for its 2015 Fit hatchback.
Completely redesigned for 2015, the upcoming Fit will start at $14,495 for the base DX model, promising best-in-class cargo with the rear seats folded, improved fuel economy, more refinement and sportier driving dynamics. To sweeten the deal even further, Honda is even offering customers who purchase a Fit between August 6 and October 31 of this year an extended warranty to six years, or 100,000 kilometres.
The 2015 Fit will be powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine, rated at 130 horsepower and 114 lb.-ft. of torque. Two transmissions are offered — a six-speed manual and a new continuously variable transmission, replacing the five-speed automatic in the outgoing model. With the CVT, Honda says the Fit can sip as little as 7.0L/100 of fuel in the city and 5.7 on the highway.
Inside, the Fit’s calling card remains its practicality. With a fuel tank mounted in the middle and Honda’s s0-called Magic Seat — which essentially allows the rear seats to flip up — the Fit can swallow up to 139 litres of cargo. Rear legroom has been boosted by 122 millimetres compared to the previous model — an impressive feat considering the latest Fit is some 41 mm shorter than the outgoing model.
Deliveries of the 2015 Fit will kick off this September.
