For Peter Read, owning just one Pagani wasn’t enough. He had to have two of the million-dollar-plus hyper cars. Excessive? Maybe. But then again, if you’ve got the coin, why the heck not?

We’re just glad Read was generous enough to allow his babies to be filmed on track side-by-side. Read, a member of the Goodwood Road Racing Club in England, took his 2005 Pagani Zonda Roadster and new Pagani Huayra out for a friendly competition on the wet circuit and the resulting ballet of power was, as expected, beautiful.

It was also the first time the two Italian supercars have been filmed on track together.

The older Zonda features a naturally aspirated 7.3-litre AMG V12 engine that produces 547 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque. The newer Huayra boasts a turbocharged 6-litre AMG V12 engine, capable of pumping out 720 horses. The Huayra has a top speed of 372 km/h and “sounds like a jet engine taking off” from inside.

As summed up succinctly in the video below, this really is as good as it gets.
