Gallery: Aston Martin releases photos of Lagonda sedan undergoing testing in Oman

These are the latest photos of the new Aston Martin Lagonda undergoing severe heat testing in Oman.

This latest Lagonda — similar in shape and concept to its famed 1976 namesake — is built on Aston’s ubiquitous VH platform and powered by its traditional 6.0-litre V12. But in most other ways — from its square-ish shape and its four full-sized doors — it is unique in Gaydon’s lineup.

Indeed, demand from the Middle East means that this is one Aston Martin that is as good to be driven in as it is to drive. The car shown is Aston’s first fully functional prototypes and, in its current guise, has no less than 85 sensors measuring interior and exterior temperatures as the company endurance tests it in extreme temperatures, the company noting that in some of its tests, the interior trim bits hit 80 degrees Celcius. Yes, I said Celcius, not Farenheit.
