According to a new report, there’s a chance Mini will build the ultra-cool Superleggera concept.
Reuters says the concept, which was revealed earlier this year during the Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza, is about half a year away from being green-lit by BMW. Complete with an electric powertrain under the hood, BMW is reportedly leaning towards ‘yes’, although the Superleggera would mark a significant departure from Mini’s current lineup.
Currently, the Mini lineup consists of seven vehicles, although BMW is considering the Superleggera as a way to reshape the Mini brand. The automaker is looking to either expand the lineup to 10 variants or pare it down to five, although no official decision has been made.
