Rick Bye and Brian Donato, the two Targa Newfoundland competitors behind Roll With It Racing, were involved in an accident at yesterday’s event.
The collision occurred during yesterday’s Prologe event. We don’t know much about the collision just yet, but Mitsubishi Canada public relations representative John Arnone says Bye sustained a back injury, while Donato wasn’t injured. Bye is expected to recover from his injuries.
“Although Roll With It Racing has ended its quest to complete the 2014 Targa, Mitsubishi is proud of its association with the team and Brian’s courageous participation in the rally,” Arnone said in an e-mail. “We hope for Rick’s full recovery so that he can return to his remarkable work of helping disabled people.”
