Fiat’s latest crossover, the 500X, is destined to debut next month in Paris. But if this new image is any indication, we now have an idea of what we can expect.

Based on the same underpinnings as the new Jeep Renegade, the look of the 500 is unmistakably Fiat — it shares a larger footprint with the 500L, and from the outside, it essentially looks like a stretched and reshaped 500.
Given it’s based on the Jeep Renegade, expect to see the company’s 1.4-litre MultiAir turbocharged four-cylinder under the hood, rated at 160 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque. Transmission options are expected to include a six-speed manual and the 500L’s dual-clutch automatic, as well as possibly Chrysler’s nine-speed automatic. Like the Jeep Renegade, the Fiat 500X is expected to be offered in front- and all-wheel-drive configurations.
