GM will add another shift to its Wentzville, Missouri assembly plant to meet the demand of its all-new midsize pickups.

So far, GM has received roughly 30,000 orders for the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. In light of this, the automaker is adding a third shift to its Wentzville plant, which is also where the Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana full-size vans are assembled.

The shift will add 750 new jobs, on top of the 1,315 already created by the launch of the Colorado and Canyon. The third shift will begin early in 2015 when the Colorado and Canyon are launched, while a diesel version is expected for the 2016 model year.
