Audi is on the verge of adding a third member to the TT family.
That’s the word from Automotive News, which spoke to Audi R&D chief Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg during the launch of the new TT coupe. He didn’t specify what sort of model we can expect, but all signs point to the TT Offroad Concept unveiled earlier this year at the Beijing Motor Show.
Although it’s difficult to see just how a sports car like the TT would translate into a high-riding crossover — albeit a sporty one — Hackenberg says the TT Offroad “provides an insight into how we might envisage a new model in a future TT family.”
The 2015 Audi TT coupe will hit dealers in Europe in just a few weeks, while the roadster will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show on Oct. 2 and go on sale in the spring. On the other hand, we’ll see the TT coupe hit North American shores in the third quarter of 2015, followed by the roadster a year later.
