Subaru is refreshing the Impreza with revised styling, new features and better fuel economy for the 2015 model year.
Up front, the Impreza sees the typical mid-life refresh changes, including a restyled front bumper, grille and headlights, while the interior sees more significant changes in the way of a new touchscreen infotainment system standard on all models. Base models see a 6.2-inch screen, while the fully-loaded Limited receives a seven-inch screen. In addition, a back-up camera and cruise control is standard across the board.
For 2015, Subaru is also offering its EyeSight suite of driver assists on the Limited trim. Much like the system on the Forester, Legacy and Outback, it adds a handful of active safety features such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and pre-collision braking. The Impreza also sees a handful of smaller tweaks to improve its ride quality, such as additional sound insulation and slightly thicker windows.
Finally, Subaru has also tweaked the Impreza’s CVT for 2015 by adding simulated shifts and adjusted gear ratios in an effort to make it feel like a conventional automatic transmission. Fuel economy has also been bumped up across the board to 28 MPG in the city, 37 on the highway and 31 combined. A five-speed manual is optional, and the 148-horsepower 2.0L four-cylinder engine remains under the hood.
