Following last week’s teaser, Honda has revealed a handful of updates and tweaks for the 2015 CR-V.

The first thing you’ll notice about the 2015 CR-V is the new front fascia, resembling the refreshed Civic and redesigned Fit hatchback. Most prominently, there is a chrome strip that is styled to connect, at least visually, the new grille to the headlights, which now feature LED daytime running lights. In addition, the CR-V also wears restyled rear bumpers and tail lights, new mirrors and new 17-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the 2015 CR-V also nets a new centre console up front and new technology options, such as a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system and Honda’s suite of active safety gadgets. These include Forward Collision Warning, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Keep Assist and Lane Departure Warning, as well as Honda’s LaneWatch system — which is essentially a camera mounted on the passenger-side mirror and pointed at the blind spot.

A direct-injected 2.4-litre four-cylinder remains under the hood, rated at 185 horsepower and 181 lb.-ft. of torque. It’s largely similar to the outgoing engine, but it’s slightly lighter and torque is up some 11 per cent. A CVT replaces the aging five-speed automatic transmission, bumping fuel economy up to 27 MPG in the city and 34 on the highway for front-wheel-drive models. All-wheel-drive CRVs are a touch thirstier, at 26 MPG city and 33 highway.

Canadian pricing hasn’t been announced just yet, but the 2015 CR-V will hit dealers on Oct. 1.
