Subaru has confirmed the WRX STI will be making an appearance at the North American International Auto Show.
With no accompanying teaser images of the WRX STI, Subaru simply promised its “iconic performance flagship model” will debut in Detroit next week. Nothing else about the car is confirmed, but based on previous models, it’s safe to say the WRX STI will boast the requesite visual and performance tweaks to help it stand apart from the lesser WRX.
The current WRX STI is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-litre flat-four engine, producing 305 horsepower and 290 lb.-ft. of torque. Although nothing has been set in stone, expect the 2015 model to boast similar numbers, as well as a handful of suspension, brake and chassis modifications. And yes, expect the giant spoiler on the trunk, too.
We’ll be covering the North American International Auto Show live when it opens its doors next week.
