Ford will take to the Los Angeles Auto Show with a facelifted Explorer SUV.
The automaker is mum on the details, only saying that the new Explorer will boast “a new look, added capability and additional driver assist technology.” Along with the new refreshed model, Ford will be marking the Explorer’s 25th anniversary in North America next year.
The current fifth-generation Explorer has been around since 2010 as a 2011 model. Four-wheel-drive is optional, and the Explorer can be had with three powertrains — a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, a 3.5-litre V6 or a twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6, although Ford’s 2.3-litre four- or 2.7-litre six-cylinder EcoBoost engines will be welcome updates.
