McLaren is officially on track to add another car to its lineup, positioned below the 650S.
Until now, rumours have been floating around over the British automaker introducing the so-called P13, a new sports car aimed primarily at the likes of the Audi R8, Ferrari California T and Porsche 911 Turbo. McLaren confirmed the news today, along with the car’s name — it will be called the ‘Sports Series’.

We don’t know what McLaren’s next car will look like, but we know it’s called the Sports Series.
Handout, McLaren
The automaker remained tight-lipped on the car’s details, only saying the car is set to launch in the second quarter of 2015. Rumours suggest it will be powered by a variant of McLaren’s twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8, tuned to the neighbourhood of 444 horsepower, and will share its carbon fibre monocoque chassis with the 650S.
Additionally, we can expect it to complete the zero-to-100 km/h sprint in less than four seconds before topping out at 185 mph. More than likely, the McLaren Sports Series will debut at the Geneva Motor Show next year.
