GM will be taking to this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show with the latest addition to its high-performance lineup — the ATS-V Coupe.
Unlike the CTS VSport, the ATS teased in this video will be a full-fledged V variant meant to fill the now-empty shoes left behind by the outgoing CTS-V Coupe. Although GM didn’t reveal any official technical specs, we can see the ATS-V Coupe will likely wear uprated brakes at each corner, larger alloy wheels and stickier Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.
Based on what we can hear — and lining up with the rumours — there won’t be a V8 under the hood. Instead, expect the ATS-V Coupe to be powered by the same twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre V6 engine shared with the CTS and XTS VSport models. In those applications, the 3.6L V6 pumps out 420 horsepower and 430 lb.-ft. of torque, but we’re hoping for some more kick given the ATS-V Coupe is billed as a BMW M3/M4, Lexus RC F and Mercedes-AMG C 63 competitor.
We’ll bring you the latest on Cadillac’s ATS-V Coupe when it debuts next week at the L.A. Auto Show.
