Volkswagen is bringing the GTI Roadster and the Golf R 400 to the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show following their worldwide debuts earlier this year.
We first saw the Golf R 400 earlier this year at the Beijing Motor Show. It’s powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, pumping 394 horsepower to all four wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. All that kick is good for a zero-to-100 km/h sprint in 3.9 seconds.
The GTI Roadster, on the other hand, debuted earlier this year and will be exclusive to the virtual Gran Turismo 6 world. Unlike the Golf R 400, the GTI Roadster is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6, rated at 503 horsepower and 413 lb.-ft. of torque and mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and an all-wheel-drive drivetrain.
We’ll bring you the latest from the L.A. Auto Show when it kicks off next week.
