While Ford now has some of the best gasoline-powered ratings, the overall best is still held by the 2015 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel, the only truck in its class offered with a diesel engine, with a Natural Resources Canada rating of 8.8 L/100 km on the highway and 12.1 in the city for a combined 10.5.
The 2015 F-150 is 318 kg lighter than the previous model and the new fuel economy figures are 5 per cent to 29 per cent better than its predecessor, depending on configuration. Ford also says the new truck “now tows as much as 1,100 more pounds and hauls as much as 530 pounds more than today’s model.”
The new F-150 is making its way to dealers now, and Canadian pricing starts at $21,399.
