Walking away with top honours from the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) is far from a simple task. It’s one of the most respected accolades out there, and it takes a lot for a vehicle gunning for the award to take it home.
AJAC has been at this — choosing the best overall new car (and overall new truck, after 1999) — since 1985. That’s 29 years of evaluating cars from qualitative and quantitative aspects over the course of a week’s worth of rigorous testing. And even if a car doesn’t win the top Car or Utility Vehicle of the Year award, there are individual category winners to share the limelight.
