Mercedes-Benz has officially priced its ultra-luxurious Maybach S600 and as you’d expect, it isn’t exactly cheap.
Pegged as a rival to the finest from Rolls-Royce and Bentley, the Mercedes-Maybach S600 starts at $189,350 in the U.S. So, what does nearly $200,000 get you? For starters, an excessively opulent interior that’s best compared to a living room rather than a car, outfitted with leather covering nearly every surface, two silver champagne flutes and small fold-out tables. In fact, Mercedes-Benz says passengers in the rear seats — which also recline and offer calf support, by the way — will be treated to one of the quietest sedans on the market right now.

The interior of the Maybach S600 is positively opulent.
Handout, Mercedes-Benz
Of course, all this opulence needs to get from Point A to Point B somehow. The Mercedes-Maybach S600 does so with a 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine, rated at 523 horsepower and an eye-watering 612 lb.-ft. of torque. As you’d expect from a $200,000 luxo-sedan, the Maybach S600 is fitted with the latest tech features, including full LED lighting all around, a 3D surround sound system and an air purification system, along with Mercedes’ intelligent drive and Magic Body Control gadgets.
