Hot on the heels of Ford‘s Focus RS reveal set for tomorrow, rumours suggest the Blue Oval is considering adding an RS variant to the Fiesta lineup.
The word comes from Ford Performance manager Tyrone Johnson, who told Autocar UK that the automaker is working on a higher-performance variant of the current Fiesta that could fall under Ford’s new Performance brand.
“There’s more to come from the current Fiesta,” he said. Johnson stopped short of confirming whether it would be a refreshed ST or a full-blown RS variant, but he did say an RS is doable if there’s a business case and if it’s “technically feasible.”
If the rumour holds true, the Fiesta RS will be one of 12 models expected to join the Ford Performance lineup, including the Focus RS, the F-150 Raptor, the Mustang’s Shelby versions and, of course, the GT supercar.
