Mercedes-Benz is looking to revive the Maybach nameplate with a range-topping version of the latest S-Class.
The S-Class Maybach could debut later on this year in the U.S., according to Automotive News. If it does, Mercedes will aim it directly at the Bentley Mulsanne and the Rolls-Royce Phantom, meaning the S-Class Maybach will be luxuriously excessive.
We last saw the Maybach name back in 2012 with the Maybach 57 and 62, a pair of range-topping sedans based on the S-Class. With Mercedes’ newest kick at the Maybach can, the latest one will be positioned above the 12-cylinder S600.
