Rumour has it the 2016 Ford GT will command a very hefty price tag when it hits production.
Speaking at the Geneva Motor Show during the car’s European debut, Raj Nair, Ford’s head of Global Product Development said the GT will be “facing off against cars like the Aventador.”
That means, as far as price is concerned, the Ford GT will be priced around the $400,000 mark. In the Lamborghini world, that gets you an Aventador with 700 horsepower, a V12 engine and, of course, name recognition.
To maintain exclusivity, Ford will limit GT production to 250 units per year. And while it falls short on paper – the GT produces roughly 600 horsepower from a twin-turbocharged V6 – the chassis and engineering should more than make up for the price tag.
