Mercedes-Benz will take to this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show with a coupe variant of the redesigned C-Class.
Speaking to Autocar UK, Mercedes-Benz design chief Gorden Wagener promises the C-Class Coupe will be “even better to drive than it looks” and a “sleeker and more beautiful design” than the already stunning S-Class Coupe.
Expect the C-Class Coupe to be what the two-door S-Class is to the sedan version, in that the car will be styled differently than the C-Class sedan, but will share underpinnings and powertrains.
That also means a C63 AMG Coupe is on the way. AMG head Tobias Moers says it will be a “breakthrough” compared to the outgoing C63 AMG coupe, but just what that entails remains to be seen. The new C63 AMG coupe will more than likely be powered by Mercedes-AMG’s new 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 found in the C63 sedan and rage-topping GT sports car.
