Mitsubishi unveils Mirage sedan at Montreal auto show

Mitsubishi has just pulled back the covers from its latest entry in the city car segment at this year’s Montreal auto show.

Known as the Mirage G4, it is essentially a sedan version of the new-for-2014 Mirage hatchback. It won’t go on sale just yet, as Mitsubishi is still undecided as to whether or not it would sell it in North America. As a result, Mitsubishi is sending the little Mirage G4 along the Canadian auto show circuit to determine if there’s enough demand for it in the Great White North.

The Mirage G4 shares its underpinnings with the hatchback, meaning a 1.2-litre four-cylinder is standard fare. It pumps out 74 horsepower and 74 lb.-ft. of torque, and can be mated to either a five-speed manual or a CVT.

The Montreal auto show opens its doors to the public tomorrow. After that, expect the Mirage G4 at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto on Feb. 14.
