Ford has told us almost everything about the Shelby GT350 Mustang, but held out on a few important details – including how much horsepower it produces.
Until now, Ford said the Shelby GT350 is good for more than 500 horsepower. But according to enthusiast website Mustang6G, Mustang and Shelby brand manager Jim Ownens says the uptuned Mustang will produce at least 100 horsepower per litre.
At 5.2-litres in displacement, that translates to 520 horsepower at the very least from its normally-aspirated V8. Owens also said the GT350 will also have an 8,250 rpm redline.
The GT350 is set to hit dealers in the fourth quarter of this year, which explains why we also haven’t seen a model year. That’s because Ford could repeat what it did with the standard Mustang and release a limited-edition 2015.5 model.
