Brabus Startech turns Range Rover Sport into a pickup truck

Ever wonder what a Range Rover pickup would look like? It might be a question nobody asked, but German tuner Brabus has an answer in time for this year’s Shanghai Motor Show.

Based on the Range Rover Sport, the pickup conversion was undertaken by Startech, Brabus’ division that deals with non-Mercedes-Benz products. It’s a seemingly simple conversion with part of the roof chopped off and replaced with the bed of a pickup, but the project required approximately 100 new components made of aluminum, carbon fibre and steel.

While a Ford F-150 might be a touch more practical, Brabus says the converted Range Rover can handle anything from multiple sets of golf clubs to falcons – yes, falcons in a cage. The truck is also fitted with a heated and tinted windown behind the rear seats, and retains Range Rover’s factory panoramic sunroof.

Along with the pickup conversion, Brabus fitted this Range Rover with 23-inch wheels, new air suspension components, unique interior appointments, a wider body kit and a custom exhaust. The supercharged 5.0-litre V8 remains under the hood, but now cranks out 526 horsepower.
