Tesla expands to used car sales on the internet

Tesla, known for skipping the dealership process and selling cars directly to consumers, is branching into the used car market.

The automaker now has a section on its website dedicated to “Pre-Owned” cars in the U.S. and Canada. Understandably, most listings are of Model S sedans, including 60-kWh, 85 kWh and P85 versions – all with relatively low mileage, and all with a four-year, 50,000-mile warranty.

Like Tesla’s new car sales, used vehicles are being sold by the automaker via the internet. If you were hoping for a deal, you might have to hold out a little longer – the cheapest used Model S sedan on Tesla’s website is a P85 in Montreal listed for $74,500. By comparison, the lowest-priced Model S sedan on AutoTrader, located in Saint-Lambert, Quebec, is listed for $72,200.

Those who purchase used Tesla vehicles have the option of picking them up at a storage facility or having the car delivered directly to their door.
