DETROIT — Celebrating the debut of the new sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro, a parade of more than 350 of the iconic pony cars rolled onto the Belle Isle Grand Prix Course in their hometown Detroit this weekend.

In addition to a vast lot filled with Camaros of every body style, generation and level of customization was a collection of museum cars.

Every model year was represented, from the very first Camaro to roll off the production line in 1967 to the sixth-generation 2016 unveiled at the event. Historic race cars shared space with prototypes and concept cars.

Scattered showers did little to dampen the enthusiasm of more than 1,000 Camaro fans, and the event projected the laid-back camaraderie of a local cruise night.

Participants came from across the U.S. and Canada, from as far away as California and as near as the other side of Detroit.
