According to Top Gear, radio and television personality Chris Evans has been selected to lead a completely new Top Gear line up. Evans has signed a three-year contract to host the popular motoring show. The next season (season 23) will air early in 2016.
“I promise I will do everything I possibly can to respect what has gone on before and take the show forward,” Evans said.
After the much publicized “fracas” that involved Jeremy Clarkson punching a producer, the two other hosts of the popular BBC motoring show, Richard Hammond and James May, refused a £4-million contract to re-appear on the show without Clarkson.
Evans is hardly a stranger to cars, presenting or Top Gear. He owns a sizable (and very drool-worthy) collection of classic Ferraris and let James May drive his £5.6-million 1961 Ferrari California spider in season 18 of Top Gear.
