Very old, very rare European racers will be the stars of the show at next week’s RM Auctions Paris. More than 50 cars will be up for bid Feb. 4 to 5, and, like previous auctions of this nature, don’t be surprised to see final closing prices well into the millions of dollars on certain prized cars.
Expected to fetch the most is a beautiful 1955 Jaguar D-Type. The 300-horsepower, 6-cylinder Jaguar made its racing debut at the 1954 24 Hours of Le Mans, where it finished 2nd overall. It’s expected to go for between $5.6 million and $6.4 million US.
