BMW reportedly planning 7 Series M Performance variant

According to a report from Car and Driver, BMW may produce an M Performance version of their 7 series sedan.

Revealed earlier this month, the fastest version of the BMW 7 Series is a twin-turbocharged 4.4L V8 making “only” 445 horsepower. But plutocrats need not worry because a much more muscular V12-powered 760i will return to the lineup in the future.

Details are scarce, but BMW has been hinting at an M version of the 7 series that may feature mild hybridization. Technically, there already is an M Sport package on the 7 series but it’s purely cosmetic and includes larger wheels, revised lower bodywork and M badges placed around the interior.

We can expect this new M Performance model to be sold alongside a refreshed Alpina B7 which will feature a twin-turbocharged V8 and around 600 horsepower.
