BMW is taking to this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance with two new concept cars.
According to a report from Autocar UK, the first concept will preview the upcoming M4 GTS, a track-focused variant of the standard M4. It’s said to feature a number of performance enhancements, most notably a new water-injection cooling system that could increase horsepower to as much as 467 from its turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six engine.
The M4 GTS is expected to be lighter than the standard M4 and come with additional aerodynamic enhancements, such as a front splitter and a fixed rear wing inspired by the company’s M4 MotoGP safety car. Production numbers are still unknown, but the previous M3 GTS was limited to just 150 copies worldwide.

Handout, BMW
Along with the M4 GTS, BMW will also show an evolution of the 3.0 CSL concept unveiled back in May. Much of that car is still under wraps – except for its steering wheel, which BMW saw fit to tease. It might not be making its way to production anytime soon, but the 3.0 CSL reportedly paves the way for lighter, faster and more extreme M cars to rival Mercedes-AMG’s Black Series.
