Kia is sprucing up the 2017 Sportage with an all-new model due out at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September.
As the near-twin to the 2016 Hyundai Tucson, Kia dropped three design sketches hinting at the new compact crossover. From what we can see, the new Sportage is not unlike a baby Sorento and under the skin, Kia promises this will be one of it’s highest-quality cabins to date, complete with more top-shelf materials, more refinement and a fresh layout.
Kia has remained tight-lipped on many details, but expect to see the Hyundai Tucson’s new 1.6-litre turbo-four under the hood and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Expect to also see the requisite active safety tech, such as a blind-spot monitor and a lane-keeping assist.
