The Internet got its first glimpse of the new 2017 Kia Sportage after Korea’s Auto Tribune published what it claims to be the first photos of the automaker’s new CUV.
The leaked images show the redesigned compact crossover featuring a bold new look, somewhat in line with what was seen in the teaser renderings released last week, although not nearly as aggressive.

Kia has remained tight-lipped on many details, but expect to see the Hyundai Tucson’s new 1.6-litre turbo-four under the hood and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Expect to also see the requisite active safety tech, such as a blind-spot monitor and a lane-keeping assist.
The next-gen Sportage is set to make its official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which opens its doors on Sept. 17.
