Jaguar has given us our clearest look at the F-Pace, its first-ever SUV.
The F-Pace will be revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show this month, marking Jaguar’s 80th anniversary. The F-Pace is definitely a looker, complete with contrasting 10-spoke alloy wheels, and aggressive front and rear fascias.
Whether the F-Pace is athletic as Jaguar’s other models remains to be seen, but Mike Cross, the man in charge of fine-tuning Jaguar’s vehicle dynamics, promises the SUV will be no different.
“We haven’t made any compromises or exceptions,” Cross said in a press release. “The new F-Pace must be a true Jaguar and deliver the Jaguar dynamics DNA.”
Under the skin, the F-Pace benefits from Jaguar’s new aluminum-intensive architecture, keeping weight low. All-wheel-drive will be standard and a torque vectoring system will be standard, as well as a variety of powertrain options. Details are still thin on the latter, but expect Jaguar’s 340- and 380-horsepower supercharged V6 engines available, as well as a turbo-four and a diesel – for Europe, at least.
