Ford’s Focus RS becoming less of a hot hatch and more of a sports car-baiting machine.
In a new video, the 345-horsepower Focus RS sprints from a standstill to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. Impressive stuff, but it’s hardly groundbreaking – that figure is more or less in line with its chief competition, the Subaru WRX STI and the Volkswagen Golf R.
Where the Focus RS truly shines is top speed. After reaching 100 km/h in about the time it takes to butter up a piece of toast, the Focus RS tops out at 266 km/h – a healthy advantage over the Golf R and WRX STI.
Pricing is still under wraps, but given the competition and a recent leak, expect it to start anywhere between $35,000 to $40,000 in Canada.
