Following a brief glimpse earlier this year, GM has taken all the wraps off the Chevrolet Silverado for 2016.
As before, the Silverado receives a quick nip and tuck for 2016. There’s a restyled front fascia with a new grille and headlights, as well as a more sculpted hood and, depending on the model, either more body-coloured or chrome trim bits. LED daytime running lights are standard across the board, while uplevel models can be had with full LED headlights.

Inside, the Silverado can be had with Chevy’s MyLink infotainment system that supports either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. There’s also a handful of available safety features, including forward collision alert, lane-keeping assist and automatic high beams.
Powertrain options remain a carry-over for 2016. The 4.3-litre V6 engine is still standard, rated at 285 horsepower and 305 lb.-ft. of torque. The 5.3-litre V8, pumping out 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque is still available, along with the 420-horsepower, 6.2-litre V8. For 2016, both V8s can be hooked up to GM’s eight-speed automatic.
