Aimed squarely at the Ford Expedition and Chevrolet Suburban, Fiat Chrysler is considering building a full-size Ram SUV of its own.

In a conference call discussing Fiat Chrysler’s third-quarter earnings, company CEO Sergio Marchionne says there’s room to add a full-size SUV on account of plans to redesign Ram’s pickups in the near future.

Per Automotive News, Marchionne says the full-size SUV segment is “the near-exclusive use of some others. We have a reasonable chance of getting at least part of that market.”

“I think we have a unique opportunity with the renewal of the pickup line, with the powertrains we selected, to significantly increase output,” he said. “We will also be exploring, as a result of that investment, some other segments.”

This isn’t the only full-size SUV in the Fiat Chrysler pipeline. Despite Jeep planning to revive the Grand Wagoneer for 2019, it won’t step on the Ram SUV’s toes, as the Grand Wagoneer will be billed as a Range Rover competitor and priced above the $100,000 mark.
