McLaren has dropped a teaser of its upcoming ’650S’ supercar ahead of the Geneva Motor Show next month.
Although McLaren is working on two upcoming supercars, the P13 and P15, a 650-horsepower version of the current MP4-12C is also rumoured to be in the cards. Chances are, this teaser is of the latter, although we can’t see much. All we know is, it’s blue, there’s plenty of carbon fibre and the ‘S’ is finished in red.
If the teaser is indeed of the 650-horsepower McLaren MP4-12C, it would slot in between the standard MP4-12C and the barbaric, 903-horsepower P1 until the rumoured P15 becomes a reality.
In addition to the P15 and the 650S, McLaren is working on the P13, a Porsche 911 Turbo fighter. Chances are, the 650S will end up with a tweaked version of McLaren’s 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 mounted in the middle, along with plenty of carbon fibre throughout the chassis.
Previous rumours suggest the 650-horsepower variant of the McLaren MP4-12C would do battle with the likes of the Ferrari 458 Speciale, but all will be revealed when the Geneva Motor Show kicks off in March.
