We know you want this edible 3D printed Mustang

If my significant other gave me a car for Valentine’s Day, I’d probably swoon, but I’d also be pretty happy about getting a delicious-looking 3D printed Ford Mustang made out of chocolate. (I’ve always wondered what a muscle car tastes like. Motor oil? Horsepower? Freedom? America?)

In this extremely complicated method of candy-making that takes hours, Ford teamed up with 3D Systems and The Sugar Lab to create little edible Mustangs, which is a world first. 3D printing was used extensively in the creation of the real 2015 Ford Mustang, but it’s the first time it has ever been used to make a candy car.

“3D printing is one of the hottest buzzwords in the news today, and it’s great to see more consumers learning about the technology and its applications,” said Paul Susalla, Ford supervisor of 3D printing, in a press release. “We wanted to create something fun to show that while 3D printing made these edible Mustangs, manufacturing-level 3D printing was used in the development of Ford’s all-new sports car.”

Not a fan of chocolate? The Mustang candy is also available in white peppermint and sour apple flavours. Nom.
