Unveiled earlier this year at the 2014 North American International Auto Show, Infiniti’s Q50 Eau Rouge Concept performance sedan caught the attention of worldwide media.
Based on the all-new Q50 premium sedan, this race-inspired four-door comes clad with carbon fibre trim, gorgeous bodywork and beautiful crimson hue. It is a way in which the Japanese automaker will potentially take on its German competition.
Why only potentially?
Johan de Nysschen, president of Infiniti, mentioned at the Geneva Motor Show that Infiniti has not yet made a final decision of building Q50 Eau Rouge, though, he did come bearing other kinds of good news.
The all-wheel-drive Eau Rouge has a 3.8L twin-turbo V6 aluminum block engine with an output of 560 horsepower and 443 lb.-ft. of torque under the hood. You will find this powerplant under the hood of Godzilla, a.k.a. the Nissan GT-R. Dropping this engine into the Eau Rouge makes it the most powerful Infiniti ever.
Commenting on the vehicle, de Nysschen says, “Performance is fundamental to who we are.”
And he adds that it is an, “excellent start” in the performance realm of luxury vehicles.
