The McLaren P1 promises to raise the bar for supercars all over the world. It hasn’t even been released yet, but every single one of the 375 units that have been allotted for production have already been sold. Besides being ultra exclusive and impossibly hyper-looking, the formidable P1 is also vying to be the fastest car to ever lap the infamous Nurburgring.
The hybrid supercar uses technology developed in Formula One and is powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 with an electric drive system for a combined 903 horsepower. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
On March 8, Driving‘s David Booth will get a rare chance to drive the $1.15-million P1 (he will be the first Canadian autojournalist to do so), but in the mean time, here is something to whet your appetite.
