When I think of muscle cars, I see big American flags waving. I see an old Dodge Charger or a Ford Mustang cruising down an abandoned street in Detroit, kicking up dry leaves and smoke as it does a burnout.

The last thing to come to mind when I think of muscle cars is the Middle East, where attitudes towards anything American could be classified as less-than-friendly. Luckily, this video taught me an important lesson.

Car and motorcycle culture is huge in Lebanon. This isn’t surprising, as the country hosts numerous rallies, hill climbs, and races, but what was surprising is the love that the Lebanese have for American muscle cars. The Electric Federal team was shooting a documentary in Lebanon when it stumbled onto a car meet, where many American muscle cars were in attendance.

Check out the short video below, which has a healthy dose of Camaro burnouts and old Trans Ams kicking up some smoke.
