Chevrolet has announced the first production-spec 2015 Corvette Z06 will cross the auction block next month.
The Z06 will appear at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach, Fla., on April 12. All proceeds will benefit the Karamanos Cancer Institute and the renovation of their infusion centre, a space dedicated to providing patients receiving chemotherapy treatments with a comfortable and soothing atmosphere.
Billed as the most track-capable Corvette ever, the 2015 Z06 is powered by a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine rated at about 625 horsepower and 635 lb.-ft. of torque. It can be paired to either a seven-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The first production Corvette Stingray raised $1-million for the Karamanos Cancer Institute at last year’s Palm Beach Barrett-Jackson auction.
